This year - in a return to Le Bal des Vampires' original concept - there
will be dancing on two floors:

 

The live music!

In the beautiful, atmospheric upstairs ballroom, we'll have historical and
vintage ballroom dancing. Our ballroom band is the stylish but always
dashing ensemble  <http://www.well.com/user/cwj/bangersandmash/> Bangers &
Mash. As usual, haunting waltzes dominate the program, but the evening will
feature a variety of dance music from across the centuries - from 18th
century Baroque country dances to Victorian Viennese waltzes, polkas and
mazurkas to early 20th century tango, blues, and fox trot and - even some
classic rock and roll swing.

 

The DJ music!

For those preferring dance music of a more modern style, Dracula's Daughter
Bar & Discotheque in the downstairs' "Ratskellar" presents non-stop dance
music by our DJ's, the dashing Darkmoon and the lovely and talented Ariyana.
The disco features a no-host (cash) bar and light refreshments for our
mortal guests. 

(Snacks for the evening are provided by the hall caterer so we are not
soliciting potluck contributions for the ball. Please also note that these
are only light refreshments, not a full dinner, and we do recommend catching
a late lunch or early dinner before the ball. For those who enjoy dining out
before events, there are many fine restaurants near the Alameda Elks Lodge,
especially on Park Street).

 

The Theatre des Vampires

Our half-time show in the ballroom is a performance by Le Theatre des
Vampires. Not recommended for the faint of heart but highly recommended for
fans of the genre! 

REMINDER: Because we plan to end at midnight (and not run overtime as
usual!), the first dance set in the ballroom will begin at 7:30 pm SHARP -
one half-hour earlier than usual at PEERS and a full hour earlier than at
Gaskells.
