The Top of the Pops or "TOTP" as it's commonly known, first aired in  
January of 1964, showcasing the best new music weekly on BBC 1,  
bringing all the latest bands like the Rolling Stones or the Beatles  
on that first show, into English livingrooms every week, and the show  
has run for 42 years. Sadly, on July 30,
BBC 2 is having the last TOTP...

Join Club Gossip as we pay our respect to the soon to be dead and  
departed
Top of the Pops, as we play all the best British Invasion New Wave  
music.
Expect us to play lots of bands like Billy Idol, The Smiths, Bauhaus,  
Frankie goes to Hollywood, The Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie and the  
Banshees, Erasure and many more
